(Natural food) Could Your Morning Shower be bad for Your Health?

By Eric Minden

If you are like me and over half of the American population you probably enjoy a refreshing shower first thing in the morning. Morning showers are said to help wake you up and make you feel more energized. So why is that researchers are saying that taking a shower in the morning is bad for your health? Here is why.

Your shower water is filled with chlorine and chlorine by products that can be harmful to your health. The following is a list of the toxins in your water and their effects.

Chlorine is a disinfectant added to most water supplies and is capable of hardening arteries, irritating skin, and may even heighten allergies and respiratory problems.

MX is another chlorinated acetic acid which is a by product of chlorine. This by product has been known to cause genetic deformation which can lead to cancer. This has also been found in each sample of chlorinated water that has been tested.

Chloroform is an authoritative by product of chlorination and may cause accelerated aging. Also, Chloroform may cause normal cells to alter and cholesterol to oxidize. This is known as carcinogen.

DCA is short for Dichloro acetic acid and can alter metabolism and may even me capable of causing liver cancer.

If you drink chlorinated water you are putting yourself at risk for bladder and rectal cancer. Although you may not be drinking the water while you are in the shower, you are absorbing at least five times the amount of water than you would be if you were drinking it.

When you take a hot or warm shower you are allowing your pores to open which in turn causes your skin to act as a sponge. While in the shower you are inhaling the chlorine and absorbing them through your skin. This allows the chlorine to enter the blood stream faster than your drinking water would enter.

If you continue to take a morning shower you are allowing yourself to be open to long term effects such as hardening of the arteries and increasing risk of cancer. In fact, if you suffer form allergies, asthma, sinus issues, or emphysema, you may be making your condition worse.

The best thing you could do for your health is to cut back on the morning showers. Allow yourself enough time at night to take a shower before bed, if you must take a shower in the morning, feel free to do so. Just remember your health and the risks that come with the shower.

Signs of Rosacea
By Eric Minden

Everyone knows that there are many different types of skin conditions which include acne and rosacea. Acne can affect anyone of any age, but rosacea generally affects women with light complexions between the ages of 30 and 50, it can also affect women of younger ages, this is just a general age of who may be affected.

Rosacea is a skin condition that is generally associated with broken, red capillaries, acne and oily skin. Rosacea is considered a chronic condition, yet there has been no development as to finding a cure or the cause of rosacea. Rosacea is should not cause serious concern medically, but it will cause cosmetic concern and may cause self-esteem problems in women.

There are many symptoms of rosacea, yet there are no tests to determine if someone has rosacea, it is simply talking to a doctor to find out. Symptoms of rosacea include burning on the face, rashes that give the appearance of a sunburn, dry skin or pimple like bumps on the face, blushing or flushing that occurs often. If you have experienced any of the symptoms you should talk to your physician.

There are generally three stages of rosacea that are experienced in the following order.

The first stage is generally dry skin and sensitive skin on the face. Red lines and sore eyes may also appear in some rosacea patients.

The second stage is the spreading of dry skin to the neck, scalp and even chest area. During the second stage pustules or nodules may appear on the skin and may last up to several days.

The third stage is associated with larger nodules on the cheeks and a swollen nose. This generally happens when rosacea has gone untreated for too long.

Luckily there are treatment options for those living with rosacea. Although there is no cure or reason why we suffer from this disease, a physician can prescribe a medication that will help control it. Lack of treatment can cause permanent damage to the skin. Seeking treatment is vital if you would like to stop the spread of rosacea.

If you have begun to notice these symptoms you should talk to your physician about possible treatments. Treating this disease with antibiotics will help reduce the spreading and keep the signs at a minimum.

Renal Disease
By Eric Minden

Renal disease or renal failure is a serious medical condition in which the kidneys decrease functionality or lose functionality completely. The kidneys are responsible for separating and filtering excess water and waste from the blood stream. The kidneys are also responsible for producing urine, which then flushes away any toxins in the body. The kidneys are used to maintain a healthy balance of fluids and salt compounds in the body.

Renal failure occurs when the kidneys suffer from cellular death, making it impossible for the kidney to filter toxins, maintain the fluid balance in the body, and produce urine. Increased amounts of toxins in the body may cause complications on the brain, blood, and heart. If untreated, renal disease can be very deadly.

Renal failure has two different types, chronic and acute.

Acute renal failure occurs rapidly and may be initiated by an underlying cause such as infection, previous kidney injury, dehydration, and use of over the counter pain medications. Acute renal failure is usually reversible and has no lasting damage.

Chronic renal failure is more dangerous because the symptoms do not appear until the kidney is severely damaged. Chronic renal failure can be caused by other medical conditions such as high blood pressure and even diabetes. This can become worse over time, making it worse if the problem has gone untreated for an extreme period of time.

Symptoms of renal failure will consist of an accumulation of fluid characterized by swelling and a sudden decrease in urination. Other symptoms may include ill feelings, headaches, and exhaustion. Many times some one with renal failure does not experience any symptoms.

There are treatment options for renal failure, such as dialysis and transplant. If the case is sever enough to need a transplant the person must stay on dialysis until a donor organ can be found. There are steps and tests that must be taken before a transplant can be made possible. Talk to a doctor about the possible treatment options for you or your loved one.

Protecting Ourselves Against Heart Disease And Cancer
By Thomas Pretty

When it comes to the health of the nation, the Government regularly take the initiative to make public the latest research and findings that can help improve our health and prevent future risks. Programmes to educate children with school meal choices have proved popular in the past along with specialist dietary information for those with particular health problems. If followed, these guidelines can not only help us keep on top of our health issues but they can also help to reduce the cost of health insurance if we are seen to be taking care of ourselves.

Health insurance and life insurance application forms often cover an assessment of our diets. This is because it has such a huge impact on our health and thus, the likelihood of us costing our health insurance company money. It has long been known that a high fat diet is bad for our hearts and heart disease is one of the biggest health issues facing the UK population. This is exactly why publications regarding heart health have encouraged us to abstain from the traditional English breakfast.

Fried food is heavily laden with fat. Cholesterol levels are raised in those who eat fried food regularly and this puts a huge strain on the heart. This led to the British fry up being called a heart attack on a plate. Well, here is a little something else to consider before you tuck into that morning treat and one more thing for the health insurance companies to consider.

The World Cancer Research Fund say that there is enough evidence that the traditional fry up increases our risk of bowel cancer by over sixty per cent that we should avoid it as much as possible. This is down to the excess fat in the diet and that fact alone is a known factor in certain types of cancer, including bowel cancer.

We’re not simply talking about those huge fry ups but your everyday sort. The ones that consist of two sausages and three rashers of bacon which equates to around 150g of processed meat, the precursor to excess fat and thus bowel cancer. The link is not fully understood yet, but suffice to say it is there and like all things; moderation is the key. The occasional fry up can be balanced by a healthy diet but it is the everyday occurrence that causes the health concerns.

Of course, if we truly want to the best for our health, we could do a lot worse than follow a traditional Victorian diet. We’re not suggesting for one minute that you go with the gruel but according to research due to be published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, Victorians set a fine example when it came to diet.

The lack of processed food meant that their intake of nutrients was much higher. Their calorie intake was also a great deal higher than today’s recommendations but this is what sustained them through the heavy toil of physical labour. They did not have the obesity problems and it’s knock on effect to health that we see today and they also lived longer.

The Victorians diet was low in salt as it was only used to add flavouring. It’s use as a preservative only came about during the late 1880’s and even then it would only have been available to the wealthier people. Confectionary was just becoming widely available but it wasn’t widely consumed as they were not used to high sugar diets.

Fruit and vegetables were a cheap commodity and up to ten portions a day would have been consumed by the working classes. Figures show that during the mid-Victorian era cancers and heart disease were a tenth of what they currently are. This can be no coincidence. Physical activity along with a basic healthy diet goes a long way to a extended, healthy life and cheaper health insurance premiums.

Health and lifestyle expert Thomas Pretty looks into health insurance and the right diet are vital considerations for many people today.

(All natural food) Lemonade Cleansing

By Eric Minden

Did you know that lemonade will help cleanse your body, and get rid of parasites that could be harmful to your body? Neither did I, and I was skeptical at first, but then I found that is has worked for others. So why not try it? I guess you want to know what it is before you do try.

The lemonade cleanse consists of key ingredients which are, three tablespoons of fresh lemon or lime juice. If this is not fresh this cleanse may not work. An equal amount of grade B or C maple syrup, this syrup is organic and has not artificial flavoring and is not synthetically treated. Sweetened syrup lacks the needed minerals and detoxifying properties. You will also need a pinch of Cayenne powder, this is used for tasting purposes and you will also need lots of water. This recipe can not be used alone, you also need a state of mind in which you can relax and do this cleanse. Many times this may be rough and may cause chemical reactions which are hard to support.

This cleanse is a way to start new health habits. This will assist the detoxification of the body and give you more energy than you ever thought possible. Your mood swings will cease and if you have been depressed you will not be any more.

This will also help you to establish a spiritual growth with in the body, thus helping you brain function more effectively. Diseases that are averted include colon cancer, gall stones, cardio vascular illness. You will also experience an increase in immunity, and a better digestive tract.

Changing your eating habits will cause digestive problems in some people. This cleanse is a recommended healthy alternative to other regimens. Although, this cleanse is not meant to be used long term, you can use it to boost your digestive system.

Multivitamins A Ticket to Daily Health
By Marc Carson

An increasingly number of the worlds population is now eager and interested in looking after their health and in keeping tune with their well-being. It is important to note that this awareness is progressively contributing to the creation of several health supplements to benefit both the adults and the young ones. Dietary and vitamin supplements have constantly proven their worth to health conscious individuals.

An excellent daily multivitamin supplement does not only develop your general bodily functions but also improves your mental and physical condition and well being. Occasionally specification is needed in appropriately supplementing nutrients to deal with any individual needs. An example would be in heart disease patients, they would have to take in CoQ10 in preventing the said condition. Alzheimers disease can be effectively prevented by a regular combination of Vitamin C and E intake.

Multivitamin supplements necessarily include all the vitamins and nutrients essential for recommended daily dosage. Multivitamin supplements may also be formulated to meet the needs of individual conditions like pregnancy and specific age brackets. It is a well settled fact that multivitamins in liquid form are more efficient than the ordinary pill forms. This is due to the fact that the body can easily absorb liquid nutrients five times more than ordinary multivitamins in tablet or capsule form.

Basically, the body needs 13 essential vitamins to function properly. In regulating the crucial performance of the body, it has to have vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K, B12, and the 7 B-complex vitamins. Majority of these vitamins are obtained by our body through the food that we eat. The danger of illness or even mortality is in the deficiency of some of the essential vitamins. This is where vitamin supplementation comes in. It counteracts the illness caused by such deficiency. With this fact, it is very unlikely for someone to refuse vitamin supplementation on a daily basis. So the question now is, why is it necessary for individuals to take multivitamins when majority of our daily diet can provide us with the basic nutrients we need? It may not be compulsory, but everyone can profit from daily multivitamins.

As previously mentioned, the clear benefit of daily intake of multivitamins it to prevent vitamin/nutrient deficiency. Some personal circumstances may increase dietary needs. Pregnant women, during their first trimester, are recommended by their doctors to take multivitamins. This does not only provide the mothers with sufficient nutrition but also proper vitamins to benefit the unborn child inside their womb. Taking multivitamins everyday reduces the risk of transmitting malnutrition from a pregnant woman to her unborn baby. Other conditions such as old age, alcoholism, smoking, and exposure to excessive pollution have long-term detrimental effects to the body system which can be successfully counteracted by multivitamins.

Stress is also one risk factor which needs serious supplementation that multivitamins can provide. Especially with people who have so much to do and have a hard time in keeping up with their health needs, multivitamins are a must to keep them always on the go without any health complications in the long run. Stress formulations benefit both your mental ability and daily endurance. Aside from the mentioned benefits, daily multivitamins also minimize the risk of cancer or any cardiovascular disease.

Several people, if not all, testify to have a feeling of comfortable health in regularly taking in multivitamins. This is due to the synergistic or combined effects of the supplemental ingredients found in multivitamins. A fat-soluble antioxidant vitamin, like the Vitamin E, works to neutralize probable harmful free agents in the body. This vitamin also maintains healthy skin through protection of cell membranes, blood circulation, heart, nerves, red blood cells, and muscles. Another antioxidant is the Vitamin C which effectively fights blood cell infection and is vital in collagen formation, wound healing, and formation of bone structures, capillaries, and teeth. Vitamin is also helpful in the iron absorption from plant sources. Vitamins A, D, K and other supplemental nutrients found in multivitamins have specific functions that benefit the bodily functions.

While daily intake of multivitamins may have proven beneficial, it is not a 100% guarantee to be free of serious illness attributed to other factors. It is often a misconception that symptoms of disease may always be cured by taking multivitamins. Health experts have the better opinion of immediate medical assistance rather than resorting to multivitamins alone.

Endometriosis
By Eric Minden

Endometriosis is a common medical condition characterized by growth beyond or outside the uterus of tissue resembling endometrium, the tissue that normally lines the uterus. Affecting an estimated 89 million women of reproductive age around the world, endometriosis occurs in roughly 5% to 10% of women. However, endometriosis can occur very rarely in post menopausal women. An estimated 2%-4% of endometriosis cases are diagnosed in the post menopausal period. In endometriosis, the endometrium is found to be growing outside the uterus, most commonly in the

pelvis.

Endometriosis is most commonly found in the lower part of the female pelvis. With the affected area most commonly being the ovary. The broad ligaments, uterosacral ligaments which are the supporting structures of the cervix containing sensory nerves from the uterus, and pouch of Douglas are the most frequently involved areas and can produce intense to no pain that may be felt in the pelvis, lower back, and during premenstrual period. Less commonly lesions can be found on the bladder, intestines, and diaphragm. Bowel endometriosis affects roughly 10% of women with endometriosis, and can cause severe pain with bowel movements. Diaphragmatic endometriosis is rare, most always on the right hemi diaphragm, and causes severe cyclic pain of the right shoulder just before and during menses.

Symptoms of endometriosis begin with a severe recurring pain. The amount of pain a woman may feel is not related to the extent of endometriosis. Some women experience little or no pain, yet endometriosis affects a large part of their body. Other symptoms of endometriosis include, but are not limited to:

-Dysmonrrhea which is very painful and sometime disables menstrual cramps.

-Repetitive Miscarriages, meaning the pregnancy ends before 3 months, this may result in severe stomach cramps and vomiting and even some bleeding.

-Chronic pelvic pain is typically accompanied by lower back pain or abdominal pain.

-Dyspareunia is painful sex

-Dysuria is urinary urgency, frequency, and at times can be painful voiding.

-Dyschezia also known as painful bowel movements.

-Nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting

-Infertility

-Short or frequent menstrual cycles.

-Severe mood swings and fatigue.

Currently, there is no known cure for endometriosis, though in some patients menopause (natural or surgical) will abate the process. However, a hysterectomy and/or removal of the ovaries will not guarantee that the endometriosis areas and/or the symptoms of endometriosis will not come back, since adhesions can be found on other organs besides the reproductive organs and even on the abdominal walls. Surgical treatment tends to be conservative, with the goal of addressing pain or infertility issues through removal of the endometriosis tissue without damaging normal tissue.

It is suggested but unproven that pregnancy and childbirth can cease the growth of endometriosis. Yet even after the pregnancy, there is no guarantee that the endometriosis will not reoccur.

You should talk to your doctor if you believe you may suffer from endometriosis. Your doctor can give you the correct treatment options. With no cure for endometriosis you should take every precaution you can to keep from having complications further down the road.
